Leaders will explore the art of coaching for consideration as a leadership style. Using bonafide coaching strategies, leaders will experience through role-play the difference this approach can have during moments of conflict, problem-solving, and change.

We’ll explore the arrangements of peer leadership and leadership teams in the context of visible healthy, productive relationships. We’ll dive into the impact that collaborative leadership has on employee engagement and retention.

We’ll address the balancing act of leadership – empowering our people while holding them accountable. This balance directly supports setting expectations, managing performance, and rewarding success.

We’ll reflect on the impact that past and current leaders have had on us individually. We’ll audit our own leadership styles and approaches to uncover the impact we are having on the career development of future leaders within our fold.

We’ll introduce the human social behavior framework, BICEPS, coined by Paloma Medina. We’ll learn to acknowledge our own BICEPS and apply the framework to address real-time workplace challenges with equity-centered leadership.

We’ll explore the opportunity and duty that rests with Leaders. Diving deeper into the expansive impact workplace leadership has on the lives and livelihoods of the people in the workforce.

In this beginning session, we’ll explore the most crucial commonality that all Leaders share despite industry, classification, experience, or expertise – their own humanity. We start with this exploration for learning how to lead with vulnerability, lead through fear, and lead by recognizing the humanity of all.
