Leadership Development

How does Affirma develop and affirm Leaders?

We help Leaders and organizations on their journey to making equity-centered decisions for their own leadership and ultimately, for the intentional impact they will have on their people.

Whether your entire organization could benefit from an immersive opportunity to establish shared language and education or your leadership team needs transformation and calibration, we’ll meet you where you are – affirming your leadership through workshops, leadership retreats, and speaking engagements.

Equity-Centered Workshops

An experience that introduces transformative equity-based concepts and blends visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning through self-reflection, small group and community discussion.

Each workshop is designed to inspire attendees to acknowledge where they are on their own personal equity journey. We’ll also guide them, offering frameworks and tools along the way, toward an understanding of how each of them can contribute to systemic change within the organization.

These 3-hour workshops can be tailored to specific classifications or groups of employees (ie. recruiting staff, emerging leaders, current managers, senior leaders, DEI committees, etc.), up to 40 attendees.

Based on the development needs of the specified group, the following workshops are offered. Custom workshops can be specially designed by request.

Tia did an amazing job

Helping us do a level set on where we were on our equity journey and giving us good, tangible practices that are ongoing. Much more than a one-and-done seminar.

Tia did an amazing job of putting people at ease around difficult subjects, giving people grace but also guiding us to practical and inspiring ways to do better and think more inclusively.

Leadership Retreats

As practitioners ourselves, we see the power of our community. We see that these experiences are part of a shared story. We see these stories as a space to heal, grow and deepen our community. We see community as self-care. Our retreats offer the opportunity to learn, deepen, reflect and take care through the shared expertise and guidance of our team, alongside others on this journey with you.
Using our RADAR method, we’ll design an opportunity to step away from the work with dedicated attention to:

Keep doing what you’re doing

Keep doing what you're doing, which is facilitating a tough conversation and giving people space to think, reflect and ultimately contribute. You're there when you're needed, but you really, and beautifully, just placed the topics in front of us and stepped back, making us all lean in and participate. Even our most reserved people came forward.
